Hi there,
Thank you for visiting our new gift shop in Canada. This year in 2024, we aspire to become Santa’s reliable supplier for decorative festive gifts for all of his family, friends, and the entire elf population.
After all, we do have the advantage of being close to the North Pole ;) … but this is not our only strength. We hope to dazzle Santa's world, and you Dear Customers, with original style and quality of our products.
For now, we are introducing our new line of air dry ceramic ornaments - handcrafted from start to finish.
In our tiny studio, we begin with a bag of ceramic powder mix, adding water and additives to the pitcher and mixing by hand for few minutes. Then, we pour this thick "cream like" solution to our own-designed forms, to solidify. After about 6 hours, we demold our little castings and sand them by hand, each and everyone. The castings are still wet at that point, so they need a week to dry. After final polishing (also by hand) they are ready to be hand-painted.
We use quality watercolor and acrylic paints in our designs, and multiple varnish and glaze layers to protect these paints from fading. We contain shiny glitter under the varnish so it is better for our environment. Each stage of painting needs a dry-out period so colors don't mix and smudge. After few days of "in-painting" phase, there comes a "curing phase" when we simply wait for the glaze to dry. The ornaments can then be packed and shipped to You! The process is lengthy and labor intensive (I agree), but hopefully worth the effort.
Yes, hopefully you will find in our collection something special for yourself or loved ones. Hopefully, something will catch your eye or touch your heart. Please visit often as our new ornaments will be ready to salute to different occasions. No need to wait for Santa to celebrate special moments through out 2024. Just a few simple decorated branches can create a joyful vignette or centerpiece. And voila, there is a smile on someone's face!
Thank you again for dropping by - please accept my Best Greetings from "The Land Up North”. Dorota Popiel
